The Farm in the Fall

Today, we want to bring you a little update on the farm.

As temperatures drop and fall sets in, there are steps that we need to take to ensure that our lavender plants stay happy and healthy, and we can provide the same quality we strive for in all our products, year-round.

I’m sure every person who works with plants has their own little tricks that they do to help their plants thrive; here, we like to keep our lavender plants in a tight little ball, with no big stems sticking out; this prevents ice and snow from setting into the plant and eventually damaging it and splitting it in half, which, in turn, makes it harder for the plant to compact and grow nicely when springtime rolls around.

Our Buena Vista lavender, on the other hand, is a type of lavender that flowers twice a year, so after the September bloom, at the beginning of fall, we’ll spend some time picking the buds and drying them, to later use them to add into our tea blends, our Xander bunny, or any other projects we may have going on.
Last but not least, of course, we also like to take some time to get cozy and get ready for the holidays!
