Gummy Kit & Kaboodle

I don’t know about you, but I grew up in a time when fat-free food was our friend. Today, that idea is so last century! What we know now is that if it’s not naturally low- or no-fat, it’s probably packed with weird ingredients and/or tons of refined sugar to make up for the flavor that fat would have added. And, we also know that sugar (and the processed foods that often contain an abundance of it—or its evil twin high-fructose corn syrup) can cause a host of health problems.

Oh, to think of all the fat-free licorice, candy corn, and gummy bears I once ate in the pursuit of healthier treats. Even though I know better, I still crave those sweets—especially gummies. Bears, worms, alphabet letters (those are the best; I don’t know why)—if its chewy and fruity, it’s dancing like a sugarplum in my head.

The good news is, it’s possible to have those little delights without all the baggage that normally comes with them. And, if you have kids, the news gets even better. Vic & Vickie of Lavender Life concocted the Gummy Kit & Kaboodle, which is filled with everything you need to make a delicious, healthier version that’s superior by leaps and bounds to its packaged counterpart.

Vic and & Vickie’s grandkids were the inspiration for their creation. They wanted not only a more healthful snack for Xander and his little cousins, but also a way to engage them in productive activities when they visited. The Gummy Kit & Kaboodle was their solution.

Here’s why they love these delicious gummies and you will, too:

They’re sweetened with raw, lavender-infused honey. Raw honey is a powerful antioxidant that’s nutrient rich. It also provides the fuel to boost physical performance and contains Tyrosine, which improves learning. The lavender infusion has the added benefit of inducing sleep. Nap time, anyone?!

They’re flavored with cherry juice. Each kit comes with a jar of unsweetened, Montmorency tart cherry concentrate. Cherry juice reduces inflammation and it’s a go-to for athletes for muscle recovery. It’s also known for its pain-relieving, analgesic properties. And…ding, ding, ding!...it also naturally promotes sleep.

They set up quickly with gelatin. No waiting around for these babies. They’re ready to gratify in almost an instant thanks to gelatin. From improving digestion to easing joint pain and enhancing muscle growth, gelatin does a lot more than give gummies their signature bounce. It also contains Lysine for bone health and Glycine for a deeper sleep. Does anyone else see a pattern here?

They provide for a powerful parenting moment. Getting kids involved in the kitchen from an early age helps them understand where their food comes from. There’s an excitement in making treats from scratch, which will encourage them to experiment with unfamiliar flavors and learn new skills. It also sets them up for a healthier approach to food as they grow. And, finally, it’s a great way to make lasting family memories.

Kits come in a soft cotton bag with ingredients, molds, a dropper, and directions—just add water!
