The Chinese Dance from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite is an iconic piece of music. Three Notes and Infinite Combinations

Lavender is very complex with over 100 natural chemical constituents (most plants have only 12-20). The more than 450 named lavender varieties represent mind-boggling combinations of aromatics, with the molecular size of each chemical determining the nuance of fragrance. Bigger molecules produce a heavy, bass “note”; medium sized molecules a mid “note” and the smaller ones a top “note”. A piccolo-like fresh and light top note lavender essence is first to greet us accompanied by a bass note that lingers over time like a bassoon’s haunting moan, repeating the “lavender tune” again and again. Like violins and clarinets pulling it all together, lavender’s warm, inviting mid notes meld a perfect blend. Sweet & herbaceous -  floral & woodsy - lavender is the most versatile therapeutic essence, attracting both women & men.
